I have been adopted and now have a lovely new home!
Offered for adoption is a beautiful mid-40’s AP Games game.
AP Games manufactured games starting in the 1930’s. This is one of their games from the mid-1940’s. It features their gorgeous medium burgundy colored backs and has the “complex” style character symbol. The original game would have come with 146 tiles – 144 tiles for playing using Chinese Rules and 2 spare tiles. This game has had other AP Games tiles added to be used as jokers. They match extremely well.
AP Games’ 1 bamboo tiles are very distinct and not found in any other manufacturer’s games.
This game has 8 flowers, 2 sets of fully sequenced bouquets each numbered 1-4 with an additional 8 stickered joker tiles.
Note the interesting combination of dragon tiles – the red and green dragons are traditional Chinese characters – the white dragon in this game is rather unusual – normally it would be a blank tile but in this game it is the symbol “P” or Po meaning “white” or “plain”.
The case is in sturdy condition and has very little wear and tear – check out the condition of the handle – it is the original Bakelite handle. Overall the case has remarkably little scuffing considering its age.
The game comes with 4 swirled burgundy Bakelite racks with matching heavily swirles Bakelite E’s. They complement the burgundy tiles color beautifully.
I apologize for the slightly dark photos – this is a really gorgeous game and the photos do not do the game justice – I promise you’ll love the game in person!
If I can help with any further information please just let me know.
