Royal Depth Control (not to be confused with Royal or Royal Crisloid) was a brand name for the games manufactured by A & L Manufacturing based in Brooklyn, New York.
There are two distinct styles of one bamboo the style found in this game and a form of perching pheasant tile reminiscent of the 10 Flowers style one bamboo.
This game is from the 1950’s and has 8 flowers, 2 bouquets numbered 1-4 and 8 stickered tiles that can be used as jokers. The additional joker tiles have been added from a partial RDC game and are an excellent match – check out the picture of the backs of the tiles.
The racks are a swirled Bakelite and the colours are orange/red, forest green, lemon and medium green. The Bakelite E’s match each other and are in a lovely butterscotch colour. The case is a trumpet style case with a worn but strong leather handle. Tokens are included.
e case has royal blue felt lining. It even has its matching leather box tucked at the end of the tile storage trays. The racks are beautifully swirled burgundy Bakelite with matching metal E’s. Tokens are included. There are a couple of close up photos of the flowers so you can see how lovely the engraving is.
